“Amici dell’Archivio Emilio Scanavino”, established in 1999, was born through the initiative of Giorgina Graglia Scanavino. The efforts of the important job of researching, collecting and attentive and accurate archiving of the artist’s works translated into the compilation and publication of the Catalogo Generale “Scanavino” general catalogue, published by Electa in 2000, of the volume dedicated to sculpture entitled “Scanavino – La scultura 1952-1980”, Aspasia editions in 2004, and of other important monographic publications.

Ms. Scanavino was its President until her death in 2015, and paved the way for the management of the Association under the leadership first of Sebastiano Scanavino and, starting in 2022, with the involvement of Paola Scanavino.

After 25 years of intense research, collection and archiving of the work of Emilio Scanavino, rigorously carried out by the "Associazione Amici dell'Archivio Scanavino" association with the aim of continuing the historical work, the conservation and promotion of the artist's legacy, the Fondazione Emilio Scanavino foundation was born at the end of 2024, strongly championed by the daughter of the artist, Paola Scanavino.

The Foundation is based in a period building of the early twentieth century located in Piazza Aspromonte in Milan, converted by architect Mariano Pichler into a venue that houses the operational offices, a large exhibition hall and a conservative technical laboratory, thus becoming a new "memory factory", giving continuity to the precious work of the artist Emilio Scanavino. 

Its activity is open to dialogue with everyone and also takes place in collaboration with people or public and private entities for the creation of cultural initiatives, actively collaborating in the organization of exhibitions in Italy and abroad.
